The Old and the Bold

The 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (Frontiersmen)

In the Great War 1914-1918

My interest in the 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (Frontiersmen) stemmed from research into the military service of my Great Grandfather who, from the details impressed on his medals, I knew had served with the Royal Fusiliers during the war.  Before my research started I had always assumed, quite wrongly, that his service was in the trenches of the western front so it was somewhat of a surprise to find he had actually served with this battalion in the largely forgotten East African theatre of operations.

This website is the result of my interest and subsequent research into the 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (Frontiersmen) and is dedicated to those men who served with the battalion during the Great War 1914-1918.

Use the links on the left of this page to navigate to those areas of interest and I apologize if some of the links do not work, this is still very much ‘a work in progress' and I hope to add more material as time permits. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy what is on here at present.

I am always on the lookout for more information to add to my database of the men who served with the 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers.  If you have a relative who served or have any information, photographs, letters, diaries etc. relating to the men of this battalion then I would very much like to hear from you.  The link below can be used to contact me.

Likewise, if you are looking for information regarding the 25th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, or any of the men who served in the battalion, I will do my best to help.  If you don't find the answer to your question on these pages again the link below can be used.

Thank you for visiting the site.
